Greetings Great Lord King,
When my school had announced that we are trying to persuade you to travel from your great kingdom of Maine to our humble shire of Sussex.  All of the towns folk have gone into a Stephen King craze.  The towns folk are going to great measure to gain thy presence.  From a book drive the results have been substantial and we have received many of your greatest manuscripts.
Even though I myself am not the least bit interested in the stories of thy making I would greatly desire for you to come to us and this great ordeal.  Please come.
Colby
PS: If you commit I shall give you a bottle of our greatest milk.

Dear Mr. Stephen King,
As you have most likely already heard, Sussex Regional High School would greatly appreciate if you took the time to visit our school.  It would be an opportunity for each member of the staff and students here at SRHS, to be able to meet you and to learn about your career and different things that inspire you to write your books.
Although I have not yet got the courage to read one of your novels, I have heard so many good things about them that show what an amazing author you truly are.  Our little town of Sussex New Brunswick would be ecstatic to learn that you have agreed to come, and I promise it will be a day no one here will forget.  Thank you for taking the time to read these letters, and I hope you will consider what we are proposing.
Sincerely,
Marcia

Dear Stephen King,
I am writing to you from the small town of Sussex, NB.  I’d be surprised if you knew where it was.  Most people know Sussex as Cowtown or Dairytown.
Sussex is a small town who admires you very much.
At Sussex Regional High School many of our staff and students have put a lot of effort on trying to get you to come and visit us.  We have put up posters; displayed movies based on your books at noon, a book release, book drive, sent letters and had an assembly all in your honour.
Every year at Halloween our school does a spook trail for the community.  Next year’s theme is going to be based on your series of novels.  Everyone will love it! I hope you consider visiting us and our community next year.
Sincerely,
Maria

Dear Mr. King,
I’m a student at Sussex Regional High School.  We are a small town at the south of New Brunswick.  We have a lot of cows around. If you’re here in early September, we have giant statues of cows.  Where else in the world could you get a picture with a giant cow?  If you come, we plan to have spook trail about you.
I can tell you something about our school!  We don’t give up easily.  By now you’ve probably read hundreds of letters about why you should come to our school.  If you decided NOT to come next year, we’ll send letters next year to get you to come and the year after and so on, so forth.
The school has effort been trying to get us to become huge fans.  Personally I’d say its working.  We’ve watched your movies, had book drives, an assembly, put up posters and had a book release for you newest book “11/22/63”.  In the book drive we collected 60 books.
If we got a world famous writer here we could learn so much.  I know that writing is my weak point.  If you come, you could help us with writing and tell us about your inspiration.
Signed,
Carter

Dear Stephen King,
I really think you should come to my school because you are a really good writer and you could teach a lot of kids to write like you.  It would be so cool to have you come and see what we did to tell everyone about how good your movies and books are.  It would be awesome to have you come and all of the students could talk to you and could find out what people think of your writing and movies.
Our town could also give you ideas for your next book if you take it into consideration.  I really hope you come and if you do come I hope to talk to you.
Nick

Dear Mr. King,
It would be a great honour and privilege if you could come visit Sussex.  But it would not be beneficial to us, it would be beneficial to you.  You might think that coming to Sussex would be a waste of your time, but in all reality, Sussex is an ideal vacation spot.  We are the dairy and mural capitals of Atlantic Canada, and the scenery is quite nice.  It could even provide new literary inspiration.  Think of the mines deep underground, the railway or the old covered bridges.  On top of that, a big author like you visiting a small town such as Sussex could provide great publicity for you.  You may think that not everyone in our community would appreciate an accomplished novelist such as your, but the number of kids that you would teach and inspire would be greatly outweigh the ones that wouldn’t benefit.
We guarantee our hospitality if you so choose to visit Sussex, and we also guarantee that you would thoroughly enjoy your experience.
Yours truly,
Jake

Dear Mr. King,
My name is Olivia.  I’m a student at Sussex Regional High School in New Brunswick, Canada.  Me and my school would like you to consider visiting our town and our school.
Sussex is a small, friendly community that you and your wife would both enjoy.  It is very attractive with its many great restaurants, a skiing mountain, mines and farms.  We are prepared to compensate you for travel expenses as well as accommodations.
Our school is full of fans and admirers of your writing. It would be a pleasure to hear your advice and inspire our future authors.  We have many questions and would love to hear about the ups and downs to being a famous writer.
We would also like you to consider Sussex as a possible location for book signing as a promotion for your latest book.  You would welcomed and appreciate by many admirers and buyers.
It would be an honour for you to accept.  Please contact us at SRHS website or call 1-506-432-2017 to discuss.
Thank you,
Olivia

Dear Stephen King,
Since the beginning of school in September, my school has came up with the idea that you, Stephen King, should come to Sussex Regional High School.  I’m fine with the idea of you coming to our school, but many students keep saying that you’re not coming, ever!  I believe that you can prove them wrong if you only came to Sussex Regional High School.
There are many reasons why you should drop everything and come to Sussex, New Brunswick.  First of all, if you come to Sussex, it could inspire you to write another novel.  This would be a very good idea if you’re suffering from writers block and don’t have any idea what to write.
Another reason why you should come is that it would improve your image as well as ours.  I know many students who have no clue who you are.  By coming here, it could spread your name and make you even more famous, than you already are.
The final reason why you should come to Sussex Regional High School is because students who want to become authors can talk to you and get excited about the prospect of becoming a great author like yourself.
In the end, I think it would be cool if you came to Sussex, New Brunswick.  Just think who the students’ faces would light up when they saw you walk through the school doors.  I can’t wait until you come!
Sincerely,
Sadie

Dear Stephen King,
You live in Maine.  We live in Southern New Brunswick.  You are a renowned author.  We are fanatic student body.
Do you see what I’m trying to say?
We really want you to visit our school.  So much, that we’ve been in the paper and on the 5:oo news with our pleads.  We’re making a big deal about it.  A really big deal.  There is a big poster in the lobby with your face on it, for crying out loud!
I guess that might make authors hesitant; they might be a little freaked out.
But, come on.  Your Stephen King.  You write about evil clowns, and ghostly activity in hotels.  This (our crazy-for-you-student body) is nothing.  You could do this everyday.  We’re just asking for one: next Halloween.  Come to our school.
You know what will happen if you don’t.  We’ll think you are just another author who couldn’t handle our crazy admiration...You’ll be considered a wimp.
You don’t want that, do you?  Of course not!
You want to come to our school.
You have to come to our school.
Sincerely,
Breanne

Dear Stephen King,
Sussex is a great town.  You should come here because we are the mural capital of Canada.  We also have a lot of farms.
The Potash mines are also a big attraction.  Now, before you start getting all worried and claustrophobic, listen here.  The walls are reinforced and think about what great stories you can tell and write.  If you find a skeleton, even better.
Another thing that we have is a balloon festival. If you come to Sussex, we might just be able to advertise for you there.  Maybe we could even sell some of your books. If you are worried about along drive, don’t.  It’s only a three hour drive from there to here.
We also have lots of covered bridges.  They would be a great place for a murder don’t you think.  Finally, this school really wants you to come and we would really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
                                                                                                                                                                Tyler

Dear Mr. King,
Hello, I am a tenth grade student at Sussex Regional High School, population of 900, and I am writing to ask you to take time from your busy schedule to visit our little town of Sussex, New Brunswick. Our school took on the initiative to try to bring you here around Halloween of 2011. We are asking you that one year from then, Halloween 2012; you visit our School. We would be honored to host you, and would make you feel right at home, which is easy in a town where everybody knows your name.  I understand that you taught in our province many years ago, and we are asking you to return to New Brunswick.
Coming to our school would be a great opportunity for you to expose our students to your style of literature, and to promote your novels. Our school has already had a Stephen King book sale, which heightened the interest of your potential visit.
Our town is so unique. With over 25, we are the mural capital of Atlantic Canada, and also that of covered bridges. The second largest deposit of potash in the world is located about 4km outside of Sussex. Oh, and the cows. We probably have the largest deposit of those in the world. But in all seriousness, perhaps visiting Sussex will inspire you to write a novel about a killer calf named Cowjo.
Yes, if you were to speak at our school, it would be the biggest thing to happen to Sussex since the Queen’s visit in 2002. I was lucky enough to be in the same room as her, and Stephen King would be a notable addition to my list. If we were fortunate to have you, you would be speaking in our newly renovated theater. We raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to refurbish our old theater, and now that it’s finished, it’s beautiful.
Thanks for your consideration, and I hope to see you next year.

Sincerely,
John

Dear Stephen King,
I am a grade ten student and I am writing this letter on behalf of the school to convince you to come to Sussex Regional High School.
As a writer of your stature, if may not seem appealing to invite you to the small town on Sussex in New Brunswick.  The truth is, Sussex Regional High School would be honored if you would dedicate a day of your time speaking to us.
We would all understand if you could not make it because it is expensive to come and you are likely much too busy.  Really, why even come to Sussex?  It is such a small place!  Before you know it, you could have schools from all over inviting you to come visit them; smaller than Sussex.  If you let your guard down then you will be busy for the rest of your career…
With your writing ability and knowledge, you could help enhance the writing performance of the students that attend Sussex Regional High School.  The thing about having a real live author coming in could inspire us to be better writers.  It also would be a wonderful addition to the people that have visited Sussex.  For example, the Queen has visited a small place like this.  It could not be too hard to make it here, could it?
It would be truly a grand experience for our town to have someone as famous as you to visit us.
I hope that you will take what I have said into consideration.  Once again, just remember how wonderful it would be for you to join us even though it is such a small place.  Just think!  It could inspire us all.
Yours truly,
                 Keirsten

Dear Stephen King,
Why waste your time and money coming to a small town like Sussex? You might feel as if you are caving in, and before you know it, everyone in the country will be writing letters inviting you to their school. Also, it may be hard to get committed to coming here when you have such a busy schedule, but I promise once you get here, it’ll be a visit well worth it.
First of all, not only will this be beneficial to the students at SHRS, however it will very well help you promote all your novels that I’m sure you’ve spent many hours on.  In fact, you are already becoming well-known here even before your appearance. Just in the last couple of days, you have been in the Kings County record; therefore, many people who didn’t know who you were before are now purchasing your books. Also, if you come to Sussex you will be able to inspire many of the students and will help with their creativity and writing skills. What I’m saying is this one trip will aid the students in English courses all throughout high school and into university.
Also, there are so many great tourist attractions that are only a short distance away.  Few kilometers from our Dairy Town, you’ll find the good old potash mine. If you take notice of many of the buildings, you will realize you’re surrounded by many beautiful murals.  Wouldn’t it be nice to come back to the province you used to spend so much time in? The small town of Sussex would be honored to have someone as talented as you come and share you knowledge with us.
Sincerely,
Courtney

Dear Mr. King
So you hate small towns and cows than never come to Sussex regional high school. But if you want to see creepy barns, abandoned mines, and forests that gleams with an eerie light when the moon is joust right then this will be interesting for us all. The theme of these letters is to get you to come to our school and it would be awesome if you could come but one thing that I think you are asking yourself is “why would I come to a school in New Brunswick with nothing to offer you but joyful hearts and admiring eyes?” Well we also have plenty of old buildings and wide fields for the inspiration of a new novel or part of a novel you are currently writing. Now this is not always the thing that people would find interesting but you are a person of great vision and ideals. Our small town is not like the amazing feats that you are probably used to, but there is just something special about a small town and the community and secrets it holds.
You are an inspiration to so many and if you came to our small school you will inspire so many more. There many local writers that would love to meet you. Young men and women that are thinking of fallowing in the path of the literary arts but need that last tip over the edge of indecision. You may be the only way that people find a way to express what they feel and just relieve the burden of not knowing how they will do after high school for a job.
Last but not least the publicity of coming to a small town. There is not much that happens in a small community such as the Sussex area and the surrounding community’s so to have a famous author come and grace us with his presence it would gain a lot of publicity from the radio, and local people. So if you could come and attend our school for the Halloween of 2012 we would probably have a song and dance ready to go for your arrival to our school.
Yours truly
          Ken

   Mr. King,
As you have already heard, I am sure, my school Sussex Regional High would very much enjoy it if you made an effort to come and visit our friendly school. I understand completely if you do not want to continue on reading this, seeing as you have probably already read half of my other schoolmates’; but as a tenth grade student enrolled in English , I believe it would be in your best interests if you continued on reading.
Of course I understand that this trip to Sussex may feel useless and maybe a bit over your comfort level of expenses, but do you not think that it is worth it? Could it maybe in the slightest way be a bit rewarding? I mean think about it; you come to my school, tell me about your books and why everyone should read them, I go and buy and/or read your books, I tell my friends how good they were so they read them, and it would continue on and on and before you know it you will be even more famous than you are already ! If I were you, I would have taken the offer up the moment I go it. This could do huge things!
I bet you didn’t know that around Sussex when someone famous comes around, it is a big deal. I have that you don’t like being around crowds, but with Sussex you have nothing to worry about. Us hicks around here are real welcomin’. We once had the Queen here you know! Boy I can tell you, she loved it here in little ol’ Sussex. I should know I was there! Anyway back on topic, just because we are small doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t appreciate you. In fact, I believe that because we are so small we would be a better audience. No crazy line ups of people waiting for autographs or anything like that, just some students/staff wanted someone interesting to visit and tell their story.
Lastly, I bet you didn’t know that Sussex would be a perfect spot for a new novel or movie idea, with covered bridges, mad cows, and many murals, it wouldn’t be difficult to make a story of your kind around here. Just hear me out: You tell that you stories are bases on life and things you see right? Right! So if you took a trip to Sussex, looked around, maybe you would have the start of your new novel. Seems pretty simple to me, but then again what do I know? I am just a student at SRHS seeking the presence of an amazing writer named Stephen King.
Now that you have read all this, I hope that you have at least an idea of what a presence of you would mean to us Sussex Folks.  I mean think about it, you will sell more books, perhaps write a new book and you will be very welcomed. If you would just take one day out of your life and come and visit SRHS, you will not regret it!
Sincerely,
Vikki
P.S. I am begging you to please some to my school! I swear the rest of my schoolmates (and me) are going to go crazy with all of this suspense of whether or not there is a chance that you will come to Sussex. You should know what suspense feels like, right?

Monday, January 2, 2012

Dear Mr. King,
Sussex Regional High School would like to invite you to our school. It would greatly benefit Sussex as a town, and Sussex as a community. Students from SRHS are greatly influenced by your writing, and you making an appearance at our school would make a great impression on how students of the next generation would write stories, essays, and persuasive letters.
I’m sure that you’re sitting down trying to read all of these letters, and some of them may have some effect on you, but I assure you, if you do decide to come to Sussex, you will never regret it. You might even regret it if you don’t come! You’re probably thinking to yourself like we’re a bunch of lunatics trying to grab your attention, well you’re right. We are working on getting you off your butt, and coming to Sussex for a nice little vacation on your favorite time of year. Or are you scared?
Sussex is quite the dreadful sight right around Halloween, but on the other side of that mask, there is a nice, kind person who would do anything for you with their Atlantic hospitality. So not to fear, the Maritimers are here. Also, if you come to Sussex, we hope you like cows. We only have millions of them. Basically, every other house in the country is a farm. Now, hopefully, you like milk. And if you’re lactose intolerant, you’re probably not going to like it here. But what I’m thinking is for the kids.
You have so many books and novels that you have written, I just don’t know where to start. From novels like Carrie to movies like The Mist. If you’re seriously thinking about not coming, drop this letter, go back to your couch, re-open that bag of Cheetos and watch your Coronation Street, because I don’t want to talk to you. Think about it, if you came to our town, and brought your merchandise, you could sell a lot of items. I think the whole population of Sussex has read at least one  of your books, so it would be a great opportunity to sell them more books, t-shirts, mugs, party hats, whatever you have!
Now you may be thinking of the negative effects. “What if people don’t buy my stuff,” don’t worry about that, we only have like 1 bookstore in town, which probably has like 2 of your books in it. So, you could come here and put that book store out of business! The community of Sussex has been trying to grasp hold of your undivided attention just for an hour of your precious time, to come and have a presentation for the students of SRHS. You don’t understand how much it we would appreciate it.
We are psyched about the balloon fiesta in September, and we have that every year! But you, you are a once in a life time deal. How many people can actually say that they met Stephen King, the best novelist in the world. So if you would take about 2-3 days of your life, just to touch the hearts of some children in this town, your name would be on the tongues of every person in Sussex for years to come.

Sincerely,
Ryan

Dear Stephen King:
Have you ever wanted to make a book about a small town and get some ideas in the process, well Sussex is the place you should be in! We will help you in your book and make it an enjoyable experience.
I strongly think you should come here is because since you grew up in a small town, I think you should give Sussex a chance because we are such a small community and if you came here you would gather a bunch of new ideas and stuff for your books. Even though we are a small town there is a bunch of stuff that goes on here that you could come up with an idea instant.
You know deep inside that you want to come here because everyone comes here to get away from cities and all the noise, we also have a lot of places for eating and others such as walmart that might even give you some stuff free! Also it’s just a small far away so you could come here and it won’t even take that long also you make other kids want to write.
If you come here, other small towns and cities might think that if he comes to small towns, maybe we could make him come here. You will gain popularity better than other writers, which makes it so you sell more of your books. We also have a lot of unique places in this town such as the wilderness and murals and some abandon buildings, which makes it good for horror stories.
We understand that you are busy all the time with books and ideas, but I don’t think you should let Sussex down, just give it a chance and if you don’t like it you can leave! But we still have other writers who come here and enjoy it. As we will help you be happier here and we will make your stay seem like it is forever because we care about popular people such as yourself and we strongly suggest that if you come here, you see every part of the town. You won’t be disappointed.

                                                                                                                                                                Yours truly,
                                                                                                                                                                Brendan
