Dear Mr. King,
You are a very popular person in our small town of Sussex.  Your horror books and movies are great and well known here.  We here at Sussex Regional High School would be honoured if you could come and participate in an upcoming event starting next Halloween.
The event is a Halloween spook trail were we turn the high school into a house of horror; but this year we want it to be different we want to base it off your books and films.  But we will need to watch more of your movies and read more of your books in order to fill the whole school.  If you come maybe you will give us some more ideas.
We here at SRHS don’t only like your books and films but our parents do as well.  My father has all of your books hard covers and it would be awesome if you would maybe sign some books for people here as well.
Also by you coming here you could offer the people of Sussex Regional High a huge educational opportunity being a legendary author and all.  You would give people new ideas and encourage them to read and write more often.
Well Mr. King I hope you take my letter into consideration.
Yours truly,
McKelon

Dear Stephen King,
SRHS is a small high school in Sussex New Brunswick where basically the only thing people think we do is cow tip but for people who may not like cows they turn to reading your famous books.  There are many huge fans of yours in this small cow town and they would be thrilled to have you here.  Also you coming here would be a great educational opportunity for the young aspiring authors in this school.  Anyway, we would be happy if all our hard work paid off and you came to our school Halloween of 2012.  Please come!
Thanks,
Brianna

Dear Stephen King,
I haven’t read any of your books before, but I have heard they are good.  I LOVE horror movies and I have watched some of your before including, “Dreamcatcher”, “Cat’s Eye” and Dolores Claibrone”! Next year around Halloween we Sussex Regional High School would like you to come to our school.  We are going to base our spook trail around your books and movies, and it would be even better if you were here to help.  Our school has recently had a book drive and we now have 60 or more of your books in our library.  We have been hanging posters in our lobby and at lunch time there has been your movies playing in our theatre.  We would love it if you, Stephen King would come to our school, it would be a pleasure to have you.
Thanks,
Jessica

Dear Stephen King,
I am a student at Sussex Regional High School in New Brunswick.  I will not lie to you, I am not a fanatical fan of your work.  However, I am surrounded by hundreds of your fans who have assured me that you are an excellent author.
I have written to ask that you come here.  As I said you have you have many fans in this area who would be overjoyed to meet you.  Apart from that, there are many young writers who would surely benefit from your presence.  I would be thrilled if you could pass on some of your knowledge to us.
As I look around the room, I see many young faces.  All of them glowing as they pen letters to you, asking your presence here, as part of our seeking Stephen King initiative.  I am unsure what sparked this, but it would seem that everyone who can is doing something to lure you here.  If you were to visit our school, it would be appreciated by fans and writers alike.
Sorry about all of the letters,
Evan

Stephen,
Sorry about the many letters from my school, but we Sussex Regional want you to come to our school.  My mom is in love with your books so please come from my mommy.  I know she’s not in the school, but if you come you could always so some kind of thing so our little cow town could come too. We want you to come because we want you to share your intelligence, and if you do come we can make our spook trail around your books.  Really you should agree to come so our school can go back to normal learning cause lately our class have only been talking about you.  Our newest class argument was how old you are we thought you were 42 turns out you are 64.
 Anyway please come.

Dear Stephen King,
I think that Sussex Regional High School would greatly appreciate you coming to our school.  It would help student write.  You would also gain some publicity and get us out of class.
One reason to come visit us is you would inspire some of us kids to write.  If you inspire us to write we might grow up to be famous author some day.  If you inspire us to be like you, you could become famous.
Another reasons is you would gain some publicity and you  could sell some more of your books.  It would be good publicity if you come and visit a small town like Sussex.  I guarantee you would sell some novels because you are a good author.
It would also be good if you come because you would get us out of class.  I personally think that you getting us out of class would be awesome.  I think that you would give us a great presentation.
It would be okay if you didn’t come.  I know that you would be pretty uncomfortable coming to Sussex and giving a speech in front of 900 kids.  You probably don’t have enough time either.
Once again I think you should come to Sussex.  You would gain some great publicity, inspire us to write great novels and you would get us out of school.  It’s okay if you don’t have time though.
Sincerely Yours,
Patrick

Dear Mr. Stephen King,

We would like you to be our guest at the small town of Sussex New Brunswick.  Your trip will not be in vain for you will see the lovely people (who most admire your work), the beautiful scenery and the best of all the students of SRHS.

First of all, your work would be known throughout New Brunswick, and this visit would amount to great publicity.  Picture this, “Stephen King Returns to NB” printed in papers and top story on CTV news.  The amount of your books being sold and movies sold will sky rocket!
The scenery in Sussex and throughout New Brunswick is extraordinary.  If it’s October when you visit you can see the many colourful hills that surround us and the wildlife we live alongside.  (It may even be a good foundation for a new book). Sussex and its surrounding areas have a large amount of old covered bridges which are rather scarce in Canada.  We are also known as the mural capital of Atlantic Canada with approximately 25 splendid murals throughout Sussex and Sussex Corner.

Last but not least are the students of SRHS that are dying to meet a celebrity of such profound work.  You would inspire some of us to work harder on our writing and even convince some of us to become authors ourselves.

I know that you could be feeling a little uncertain about presenting yourself to the town.  I can assure you we are very friendly and other authors that we have has visit here such as Beth Powning and Herb Curtis and they leave with a smile on their face.

For the reasons above we would love to see you here next year.  We can assure you that your trip to Sussex will not be in vain.

Sincerely Yours,
John

Dear Stephen King,
Literacy , how important is it?  Here at Sussex Regional High School it is highly promoted.  We even have our own literacy committee and we would love to come have you support our cause as we support your writing.  Why come to Sussex?  There are multiple reasons!
To being with, what great publicity it would be for you.  And who doesn’t want all the publicity they can get?  Your sales would rise and there would be press there, you would become ore known, if that is even possible.
There is tons of inspiring and beautiful country-side.  It could help you overcome and could be the lead on your next top selling novel!  There is abandoned mines, ice caves, factories and farm buildings.
Last but not least, you would meet and inspire many young and old writers alike.  You would get the chance to meet an unforgettable body of you, talented students and the community that has helped shaped them.
I hope you consider all that I have said and grace our wonderful school with your presence.  There would be great publicity, inspiring places and wonderful young people.
Lyndsey

Dear Stephen King,
Hello, my name is Sarah and I am a student at Sussex Regional High School in Sussex, NB Canada.  The whole school and I would like to formally invite you to our school on Halloween of 2012.  Other than us wanting you to come, there are many reasons why you should.
One reason is that our little town happens to be the Mural Capital of Atlantic Canada. All over the town we have very beautiful painting of the history of Sussex and the surrounding area.  We have a beautiful town, and everywhere you look there are rolling hills covered in forests.  You should come to Sussex because it would be a nice change of pace.
Another reason you should come is because Maine is not very far away from Sussex.  Coming to Sussex would only take you about a three hour drive.  This would also make it so you could go home at the end of the day and you wouldn’t have to spend the night.  This of course is only if you don’t want to spend the night.
The last reasons that you should come is because of coming here it could improve your image and ours.  People would start to think of you as a very caring person.  It would help us so that people might stop calling us hicks and starting thinking of us as more then farmers.
I really hope that you would consider coming to our little town of Sussex, NB.
Sincerely,
Sarah

Stephen King,
You should come to Sussex Regional High School.  Why? You ask.  Well I could sit here and list them off or I could give you the three main reasons why you, Stephen King, has to come to Sussex.
For starters, Sussex isn’t far from your home in Maine.  At the most it is a three hour drive.  It would be understandable if you lived way over in the sticks in Japan and didn’t have time or you didn’t want to spend money on a plane ticket to stay for one day, but that’s the thing!  See, you don’t have to travel very far at all.  I think you caught my drift on this reason.
Secondly, coming to Sussex would be a good way to promote your books and gather other wonderful ideas for books.  To be honest with you, I’ve heard of maybe one of your books and that was only a month ago.  Now that I know who the mastermind behind some amazing movies is, I would love for you to come!
When you come to little Cowtown Sussex, which we all know you will, it will be good for your image.  You know just exactly what I mean too.  Doing things like this is like volunteer work.  We want you to come because who doesn’t like a good author?  All I’m saying is that we would love for you to come.  Who knows what could happen?  Bring some books and you may make a good amount of money!
On the contrary, you may be scared of some of the things.  It may  be cows, the potash mine, or even just how small Sussex is.  Sussex really isn’t that small though.  And you wouldn’t have to go near the mine or the cows if you didn’t want to.    All-in-all you don’t have anything to worry about.
In conclusion you really don’t have any reason to not come now do you?  So Stephen King, you are know exactly what you’re doing next October, and that is coming to Sussex Regional High School
Sincerely,
Miranda

Dear Mr. King,
I am a grade ten student enrolled in Sussex Regional High School.  Sussex is a small town in New Brunswick, Canada.  There are around nine-hundred students in our school in my school, and we all would love to have you come for a visit.
Why would you come to Sussex?  It is a small, boring town in New Brunswick.  Most of the kids probably have not read your books anyway, so what’s the point?  As soon as you come to one school, every school is going to want you.  That would be expensive!  You are probably too busy writing another book to bother visiting kids how hardly read at all.
We may be small, but we sure are friendly!  Just ask the Queen, even she has been here! We are the Mural and Dairy Capital of New Brunswick, and we have covered bridges.  This means you will never be bored on your visit because there are lots of things for you to see.  Not to mention, that Sussex Regional High school had a brand new theater for you to speak in.
You are inspiring to a lot of kids here.  They look up to your writing and you as a person having gone through all that you have.  Everyone would be ecstatic to see you walking our halls.  Not many authors take the time to come to this little town.  Just think how happy you would make your fans!
The kids a Sussex Regional High School would love to get out of class and hear you talk about all of the novels that you have written.  All of the teachers would love it is you came and inspired students to read and write more.  It’s not like you are far away, you can just come down on a Friday, talk to us kids, maybe see some sights, and then go back to Maine Sunday.  You used to teach in New Brunswick, you know that not every money author take the time to talk to us.  Students would love to hear your tips on writing, and how we can enrich our knowledge in literature, so that we can impress our teachers.
Sussex might not be the biggest, but we would love it if you took time out of you schedule to come to speak at our school.  You can promote you novels, and it’s not going to take a lot time or money to get here.  All staff and students would love it if we could talk to us, and get some tips.
Sincerely,
 Jenna

Dear Stephen King;
Students and staff from SRHS are interested in having someone come and visit our small community and enjoy the spot light for just a few days. You are the man that could make all of this happen. Just pack up your things, hitch a ride and come down to our town of Sussex, New Brunswick for a once in a life time experience.
You may ask why you would go to Sussex out of all of the places. Well let me be the first to tell you that our small town is not like the others because we are well known for a few special things. We are known as “cowtown” due to the fact that everyone where you look you will see cows and farms. We also have “Dairytown”, the creator of Sussex cheese and butter. Also, we are the mural capital of Atlantic Canada. All the beautiful painting will blow your mind away, so it is a must that you come check them out.
A small speech and presentation from you could impact many students from our school. Your presence would definitely be a new experience and could influence us also. You would be able to enhance people’s ideas about writing and give us help on our skills. Our idea on writing could change by just a few wise words spoken by you.
Since our town has such a small population and area, the spot light would be totally on you. Plus, your publicity would go sky high since you will be the star of the town.  Also, it could be a new chance to get more fans and sell more books. People would be all over your appearance and would crave to see you.
Therefore, you coming to visit our town and school would have benefits for all of us. You could see the wonders of Sussex, impact us students and improve your publicity. We would all remember this forever. I hope that you take this into consideration and that I will see you next year.
Sincerely,
Cecilia

Stephen King,
We at SRHS need you to visit our school because; your expert writing skills would be great to teach our students. If you come to Sussex you will be able to see the excellent covered bridges, you would be in the spot light and learn about our dairy past.
New Brunswick has the longest covered bridge in the world. Although Sussex does not have to longest we have 3. The 3 we have are right outside Sussex, 2 of them you can still drive through and even honk the horn if you choose. It is a really nice experience to have in a life time. If it is cold out the bridges get icy and you might wreck your car but there is no ice in October.
When you come to SRHS you would be in the spot light all the time, it could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it because there are no famous people in Sussex or even in the Sussex area. It would be a real treat to meet someone who has been through a lot.
When you visit our town you could learn how our town got started and or past of dairy farms and other products Sussex has made. Some well-known products are Sussex butter, Sussex cheese and Sussex golden ginger ale. They have been made for at least 100 years and are really nice products. Once you have tried Sussex’s products you will have them sent to Bangor.
Those are my reasons why you Stephen King should come to our little town and you definitely enjoy it.

Sincerely,
Jill

Dear Mr. King:
The students and faculty at Sussex Regional High School would like to all request a visit from you.
I know what you’re going to say. Why would you come to Sussex? We’re such a small town. But look at it this way. We’re welcoming and having you here would be the biggest thing to happen to us since the Queen stopped by. We’re the perfect place to visit if you really think about it. You wouldn’t have to worry about paparazzi, which is a benefit of visiting a small town. We would accommodate you so you would feel right at home.
For another thing, it would be very enriching for me and the rest of the students and teachers here at SRHS. You could give us tips on how to improve our writing and enhance our knowledge of literature. You could even inspire us to become great writers, like you. We also understand that there are probably hundreds of schools knocking at your door. It doesn’t make sense to choose Sussex! But what you may not realize is that when you live in a small town, there are many opportunities that you miss out on. You may be aware of this because of your past teaching experience in New Brunswick. I think that the students at our small school should be given the opportunity to be encouraged by a celebrity. You are a great person to motivate us to be better people.
Lastly, this could be a great way to promote your novels. The program here has already brought a lot of attention to you and your works. Now every single student and teacher here is aware of you and your talent. It has brought a lot of attention and it even earned an article in the newspaper. Even if you think you are too busy or the expenses would be too high, the visit would be very worth your while.
There are many reasons why you should come visit the homey little town of Sussex. I sincerely hope you consider them and give us a chance.

Sincerely,
Jill
