Dear Stephen King,
Some students decided to rewrite popular songs to persuade you to visit us. This group decided to shoot a video to. We hope you enjoy this song. We had a lot of fun creating it and the video! Below are the lyrics to the song.
Stephen King Rap!
By: Bailey, Allison, Maddy, and Mary-Kate
This one is for the author in Bangor,
He's got best sellers sellin' out all the stores
When he come up in our school we be racin' up
We got to see him first so we savin' up!
They shrill, they thrill, they sometimes kill
These novels got suspense, they be givin' you a chill!
We read, we saw, we now in awe
These books are so great; they ain't never got a flaw!
He's an author from the states, states. That SRHS awaits, waits.
Open up the gates, gates. This be feelin' like fate, fate.
You're the kind of dude we are lookin' for.
And yes, errybody needs a mentor!
I said s'cuse me you're a hell of a guy
I mean my, my, my, my you write the books that I by.
I mean, don't be shy, the queen stopped by
All we need now is the king by her side, OH!
Yes we did, yes we did, somebody please tell him who SRHS is
We are the Sonics; we read dem books up, come on up, talk this town up.
CHORUS:
Steve you got our school goin' insane,
Reading all the time, you be fillin' our brains
Steve you got those books...
Steve you write dem books!
Stephen King Rap
Enjoy,
Ms. SJ Smith

Dear Stephen King,
I wanted to share this YouTube video with you. Some of our students made it as part of an English project. It is a parody on a popular song. The students reworked the song to make it about being from Sussex. I hope that it gives you a good chuckle. I also hope that it helps to persuade you to visit us at SRHS in the fall. From Sussex and I Know It!
Cheers,
Ms SJ Smith

Dear Stephen King,
We have switched gears from letter writing to movie creating. Our students have been working hard reading some short stories and turning them into their own films. This project has taken weeks!
Now that we are starting to see the results of our hard work; we plan on taking some of these films and having our own lunch time screening for the whole school.
Here are a few links to some of the movies. If you ever read this blog, we hope you enjoy them.
